The Lexus NX is a smaller crossover that slots below the RX, offering sporty maneuverability with a spacious interior and exceptional comfort. With its razor-sharp styling, the NX is hard to miss in even the most crowded of parking lots. With a turbocharged four-cylinder powertrain and the latest tech, however, it’s much more than a pretty face.
The 2018 Lexus NX is a five-door, five-seat crossover with a base price of $35,985.* Impressive features include a rearview camera, automatic dual-zone climate control, Lexus Display Audio with an available 10.3-inch screen, premium ten-speaker sound system, and the Scout GPS Link navigation app with smartphone connectivity.
The Perfect Ride for…
SUV drivers who appreciate the finer things in life and want to make a bold first impression. The Lexus NX has dynamic styling, a high-quality interior, and roomy backseat. This sporty luxury SUV has all the hallmarks of its larger Lexus siblings with a unique attitude all its own.
Drive & Handling
The Lexus NX features the brand’s first-ever turbocharged engine. This 2.0-liter, four-cylinder unit produces 235 hp and 258 pound-feet of torque, and is mated to a six-speed automatic with standard front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. There’s also an F Sport model with some performance upgrades like sport-tuned suspension and paddle shifters.
The front-wheel-drive NX does 0 to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds, while the all-wheel-drive model does it in 7 seconds flat. Both versions are electronically limited to 124 mph.
The small-displacement engine is also fairly fuel-efficient, with gas-mileage ratings of 25 mpg combined (22 mpg city, 28 mpg highway) with front-wheel drive,** and 24 mpg combined (22 mpg city, 28 mpg highway) with all-wheel drive.** The all-wheel-drive-only F Sport model loses 1 mpg in the highway category.
Lexus also offers a hybrid version: the NX 300h. With 7th-generation hybrid technology, the 300h puts out an astonishing 194 total system horsepower. All of this power comes with efficient fuel savings, too, at an EPA-estimated 31 mpg combined fuel rating (33 mpg city, 30 mpg highway).**
The Remote Touchpad offers a new way to access the multimedia and climate control features of the NX (as well as the available navigation system). With a large touch-surface area and smartphone-inspired pinch-and-swipe functionality, this intuitive system puts you in control.
The available Lexus Enform suite enhances your drive with an array of connected services. Lexus Enform Safety Connect and Lexus Enform Service Connect (both complimentary for the first year of ownership) provide access to Roadside Assistance and offer remote access to information about your vehicle’s status and maintenance. With Lexus Enform Remote, you can remotely unlock the vehicle, start the engine, and locate your vehicle in a crowded parking lot. The available Lexus Enform App Suite provides access to a host of mobile applications directly through the center console display.
The larger Lexus RX underwent a full redesign for the 2016 model year and adds new standard safety equipment and a new F Sport front-wheel drive mode for 2018. The RX continues to pack traditional Lexus strong points like quality and efficiency into a more dynamic and exciting package than ever before. The 2018 Lexus GX is on the larger end of the crossover SUV spectrum, making a great choice for larger families or groups on the go. The GX is a confident and feature-rich SUV; one that is designed for drivers that require near limitless capability.
