Chicken wings are the ultimate party food. They show up at fancy dinner parties and casual football parties, and everyone seems to love them. This super easy spice-rubbed version, which is delicious with everything from buffalo sauce to hoisin sauce and everything in between, may just become your go-to favorite. When you shop for fresh chicken wings at the grocery store, choose the largest, fattest wings, especially if you plan to serve them as a main dish. Plan on at least five to six wings per person; running out of chicken wings is never a good idea.

JM Lexus's Spice-Rubbed Chicken Wings

Total prep time: 1 hour and 20 minutes

Hands-on time: 20 minutes

Servings: 2-3 servings

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon of paprika

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon cumin

¼ teaspoon cayenne

4-5 tablespoons olive oil

1 pound chicken wings

Blue cheese dressing or buffalo sauce, for serving

Preheat the oven to 400˚F.

Mix the salt, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, and cayenne together in a bowl and pour the spice mixture into a pie plate or a flat-bottomed dish.

Rub the olive oil evenly into the chicken wings to moisten them.

One at a time, roll the oiled chicken wings in the spice mix, coating each wing completely.

Arrange the wings on a greased baking sheet and place in the oven to bake for 35 minutes, until cooked through. Remove the wings from the oven and serve with blue cheese dressing or hot wing sauce.
